🌺🎯 Hippeastrum (Amaryllis) Cut Flower Care Guide :

1. Trim the stems carefully: • Cut 2–3 cm from the bottom of the hollow stem using a straight (not angled) cut. • Use a sharp knife or scissors. • Re-cut every 2–3 days to maintain hydration. ✅ Tip: To prevent the hollow stem from splitting, you can insert a wooden skewer or stick inside the base before placing it in water.

2. Use shallow water: • Fill the vase with just 5–8 cm of cool water. • Amaryllis stems absorb water easily and don’t need deep water. • Too much water can cause the stem to soften or rot.

3. Use a tall, stable vase: • These flowers are heavy and top-heavy. • Use a tall and heavy-bottomed vase to support their height and weight.

4. Remove leaves or lower bracts: • Remove anything that would sit below the waterline to prevent rot.

5. Use flower preservative (optional): • Add a packet of flower food to nourish the stem and reduce bacteria. • Or use a homemade mix: 1 tsp sugar + a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar.

6. Place in a cool spot: • Ideal temperature: 15–20°C. • Avoid direct sunlight, heat, and ripening fruit.

7. Monitor water level: • These flowers drink a lot — top up daily. • Change water every 1–2 days to keep it clean.

8. Vase life: • Hippeastrum/Amaryllis cut flowers last 7–14 days, depending on care and room temperature
