MOLUCCELLA

Tall stems with a mass of bell shaped flowers.

🛎️💚 Moluccella (Bells of Ireland) Cut Flower Care Guide :

1. Trim the stems: • Cut 2–3 cm off the stem ends at a diagonal angle using a sharp, clean knife or scissors. • Re-cut every 2–3 days for maximum hydration.

2. Remove lower leaves and bracts: • Strip any leaves or green bells (calyces) that will sit below the waterline to prevent rot and bacterial buildup.

3. Use clean, cool water: • Fill a vase with fresh, cool water. • Change the water every 1–2 days to maintain freshness.

4. Use flower food: • Add commercial flower preservative to nourish the stems and reduce bacteria. • Optional homemade mix: 1 tsp sugar + a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar.

5. Provide good air circulation: • Moluccella can develop mold or odor if crowded or kept in very humid conditions. • Keep the vase in a well-ventilated, cool location.

6. Avoid ethylene gas: • Keep away from ripening fruit and decaying plant matter, which release ethylene and cause premature wilting.

7. Keep in a cool area: • Ideal temperature: 10–18°C. • Avoid direct sunlight and hot or drafty environments.

8. Vase life: • Moluccella typically lasts 7–10 days, sometimes longer with proper care
